Two dead as soldiers block mourners at Ethiopian singer's funeral

Two individuals were shot dead and seven others harmed on Thursday when warriors started shooting at grievers needing to go to the memorial service of mainstream Ethiopian performer and dissident Haacaaluu Hundeessaa.

Security was high in the Ethiopian town of Ambo in front of the memorial service of Hundeessaa, whose killing in Addis Ababa not long ago started two days of fights that left in excess of 90 individuals dead.

The goodbye service had started with well-wishers laying wreaths in Ambo arena and grieving the demise of the 34-year-old artist from the ethnic Oromo gathering, Ethiopia's biggest. He was let go at a congregation in Ambo, some 100km (60 miles) west of the capital.
