A statue of Ethiopia's Emperor Haile Selassie has been uncovered at the base camp of the African Union on Feb. 10.

The statue is the second to be raised inside the mainland body's workplaces in Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa, after one of Ghana's first chief, Kwame Nkrumah, who supported skillet Africanism.

A few African pioneers at the present African Union summit and relatives of the ruler went to the statue disclosing function.

Ethiopians have cheered the statue's erection, the first on Ethiopian soil since Haile Selassie was bafflingly slaughtered at 83 years old in 1975 when a military junta called the Derg toppled the supreme tradition that existed in Ethiopia for a long time.
